The stabilization of continuous-time nonlinear systems subject \(L_2\)-disturbances is investigated. The considered systems are represented by nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models. These models are effective ways to represent nonlinear systems with arbitrary precision by means of a convex combination of local models which in general are linear equations. Sufficient delayed design conditions are obtained by using a nonquadratic Lyapunov function with integral membership function. It is shown based on matrix transformation that the stabilization control law can be entirely independent from the Lyapunov function, contributing to reduce the design conservativeness. Two examples are also provided to illustrate the reduction of the conservativeness by the proposed control approach.
