The authors consider extended Clifford-Dirac gamma matrices and \(\mathrm{SO}(1,9)\) algebras by means of an eight-dimensional linear representation, from which a gamma matrix representation of dimension \(256\) is deduced, thus showing their equivalence with the Clifford algebras \(Cl(0,8)\) and \(Cl(1,7)\) over the real field. Related representations of \(\mathrm{SO}(10)\) and \(\mathrm{SO}(1,9)\) algebras are also considered as well and a detailed comparison of the obtained algebras in the space of standard 4-component Dirac spinors is provided. This construction allows the authors to generalize field equations of higher spin, with special emphasis on the case with spin \(3/2\). In this way, a \(84\)-dimensional matrix invariance algebra related to the \(8\)-component Dirac equation in the Foldy-Wouthuysen representation is deduced, from which the symmetry of the Dirac equation in the usual representation is recovered. Although not the principal purpose of the paper, the authors discuss a potential extension of the method to the Lie algebras \(\mathrm{SO}(n)\) and \(\mathrm{SO}(p,q)\) for arbitrary values of \(p+q=n\).
