Considering the properties of the Weyl group for two simple compact Lie groups of type \(E_6\) (simply connected and adjoint type's), the authors begin with a more general study of finite groups, acting orthogonally on Euclidean space and preserving a certain lattice there. For the Weyl groups of the aforementioned two compact groups, it is proved that the centralizer of any element of this group decomposes into a direct product of reflection groups. Then a description of Weyl groups of these two compact groups in terms of generators and relations are given. Also, a classification of each centralizer of their elements is given as a direct products of reflection groups (Tables 1 and 2). For all the elements of order 1 or 2 in the Weyl group, the centralisers are products of real reflection groups. In all but one of the remaining cases, they are products of complex reflection groups. The one exception is the centraliser of the element of type \(A_2\). Also, two applications are given. The first is the computation of the \(K\)-theory for the group \(C^\ast\)-algebras of two extended affine Weyl groups of type \(E_6\). The second is a geometric description of the set of tempered representations in the Iwahori-spherical block of the \(p\)-adic adjoint group \(E_6\).
