    The authors study Cwikel-type estimates for the singular values and Schatten \(\mathcal L_p\)-norms of compositions of multiplication and convolution operators acting on stratified Lie groups. This allows them to obtain spectral asymptotic formulas for certain operators derived from sub-Laplacians. Among all their results, they show: let \(G\) be a stratified Lie group with stratification \(\mathfrak g= \sum_{n\geq 1} \mathfrak g_n\) of homogeneous dimension \(d_{\mathrm{hom}}=\sum_{n\geq 1} n \dim \mathfrak g_n\) and a fixed sub-Laplacian \(\Delta=\sum_{j=1}^m X_j^2\) where \(X_1, \dots,X_m\) is a basis for \(\mathfrak g_1\). (i) if \(p>2\) and \(r>\dim_{\mathrm{hom}}/p\), then \(\Vert M_f(-\Delta)^{-\frac{r}{2}} \Vert_p \leq c_{p,r} \Vert f\Vert_{L^p(G)}\). (ii) if \(r>\dim_{\mathrm{hom}}/p\), then \(\Vert M_f(1-\Delta)^{-\frac{r}{2}} \Vert_2 \leq c_{ r} \Vert f\Vert_{L^2(G)}\). (iii) if \(0<p<2\),\(q>2\) and \(r>\dim_{\mathrm{hom}}/p\), then \(\Vert M_f(1-\Delta)^{-\frac{r}{2}} \Vert_p \leq c_{p,r,q} \Vert f\Vert_{\ell_p(L_q)(G)}\). Here, the notation \(\Vert \cdot \Vert_p\) denotes the p-Schatten norm. \(\ell_p(L_q)(G)\) refers to a particular function space on \(G\), which is a generalisation of the mixed \(\ell_p(L_q)(\mathbb R^d)\) spaces of Birman and Solomyak.
