This paper deals with the travelling waves of the second-order Camassa-Holm equation \[ u_t -u_{txx} +u_{txxxx} +3uu_x -2u_xu_{xx} -uu_{xxx} +2u_xu_{xxxx} +uu_{xxxxx} =0. \] Applying the pseudo-conformal transformation, the solutions near a travelling wave solution \(Q(x)\) can be decomposed as \[ \sqrt{\lambda (t)}u(t,y+x(t)) = \eta(t,y)+ Q(y). \] The authors obtain the uniform boundedness of the difference term using a smoothing technique, and the orbital stability of the traveling wave solution.
