The authors study sequences of vector orthogonal polynomials. They define a vector linear functional and introduce the right and left-orthogonality with respect to this linear functional. The vector orthogonality provides a reinterpretation of the matrix orthogonality and the authors show how the vector and matrix orthogonality are connected. They also analyze two types of Hermite-Padé approximation problems that characterize completely the right and left vector orthogonality and finally they present a Markov's type theorem.
