This research deals with the ergodic theory of the nearest integer complex continued fraction map associated to the Euclidean field \(\mathbb Q(\sqrt{-d})\) for each \(d \in\{ 1, 2, 3, 7, 11\}\). The authors present the following: ``For each map, we see that there is an absolutely continuous ergodic invariant probability measure. We construct the natural extension of each map on a subset of \(\mathbb C\times \mathbb C\). Then the invariant measure for this extension is derived from the hyperbolic measure on \(\mathbb H^3\) and the density function of the absolutely continuous invariant measure for the nearest integer map is given as its marginal. For each case, we have a fundamental domain with a fractal boundary for the lattice generated by the set of integers of the imaginary quadratic fields \(\mathbb Q(\sqrt{-d})\), \(d = 1, 2, 3, 7, 11\), through the construction of the natural extension except for only one case''. Proofs are given with detail explanations, auxiliary figures and remarks are noted. The special attention is also given to descriptions of auxiliary notions and notations, to used techniques, as well as to relations between obtained and known results. For example, ``how to find the absolutely continuous invariant measure for continued fraction transformations in the case of real numbers'' and corresponding applications, and the main properties of the nearest integer complex continued fraction transformation, are considered.
