Let \([x_0,x_N]\subset \mathbb{R}\) and let \(x_0 < x_1 < \cdots < x_N\) be a partition of \([x_0,x_N\). Let \(L_i:[x_0,x_N]\to [x_{i-1},x_i]\) be a family of \(N\) contractive homeomorphisms. Consider the set of interpolation points \(\{(x_j,y_j)\in [x_0, x_N] \times \mathbb{R} : j \in \{0,1,\ldots, N\}\}\). Further suppose that \(S:[x_0,x_N]\to \mathbb{R}\) is a continuous function with \(\max\{|S(x)| : x\in [x_0,x_N]\} < 1\), termed a vertical scaling function. Let \(b\) be an affine function with \(b(x_0) = x_0\) and \(b_N (x_N) = x_N\), and \(h\) a piecewise affine function with \(h(x_j) = y_j\), \(j \in \{0,1,\ldots, N\}\). The fixed point \(f\in C[x_0,x_N]\) of the contractive affine operator \[ C[x_0,x_N] \ni g \mapsto S\circ L_i (g - b) + h\circ L_i, \text{ on }[x_{i-1},x_i], \] on the complete metric space \(C[x_0,x_N]\) is called a generalized affine fractal interpolation function. The authors study the box dimension of the graph \(\Gamma f\) under the assumption that \(S\) is Lipschitz. Employing vertical scaling matrices, upper and lower bounds on the oscillation of \(f\) are derived. As a result, an explicit formula for the box dimension of \(\Gamma f\) is obtained subject to certain constraint conditions.
