Hölder estimates and Harnack inequalities are studied for fully nonlinear integro-differential equations under some reasonable and commonly used assumptions using the viscosity solution approach. The aim of this article is to study what can be demonstrated when the kernels are of variable order and critically close to 2. Many examples of possible applications of these results are given.
