In 1990 and 1991 \textit{A. A. Klyachko} [Math. USSR, Izv. 35, No. 2, 337--375 (1990; Zbl 0706.14010); translation from Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 53, No. 5, 1001--1039 (1989); ``Vector bundles and torsion free sheaves on the projective plane'', Preprint MPI/91-59, \url{https://archive.mpim-bonn.mpg.de/id/eprint/2938}] classified equivariant torsion-free sheaves on a toric variety \(X\) in terms of filtrered collections of vector spaces. These filtered collections, parametrized by the cones of the fan \(\Sigma\) of \(X\), are often called Klyachko filtrations. \textit{M. Perling} [Resolutions and moduli for equivariant sheaves over toric varieties. Kaiserslautern: Universität Kaiserslautern (PhD thesis) (2003)] formalized this device, introduced the notion of a \(\Sigma\)-family and obtained a general classification of equivariant quasi-sheaves. In this paper authors use this construction to introduce the Klyachko diagram of a monomial ideal \(I\subseteq R=\mathbb C[x_1,\ldots,x_r]\), which means: a family of staircase-like diagrams parametrized by the cones of \(\Sigma\). The Klyachko diagram is uniquely determined by the ideal \(I\), up to \(B\)-saturation. The authors give procedures for computing this diagram using the monomial generators of \(I\). Moreover these procedures also give a minimal set of generators of a \(B\)-saturated ideal \(I^{sat}\) from a given Klyachko diagram. As a corollary, they show how compute the Klyachko diagram of the sum of two monomial ideals. Using these methods they compute the first local cohomology module which measures how different \(I\) and \(I^{sat}\) are. Finally, they obtain a formula for the Hilbert function of \(B\)-saturated monomial ideal in term of its Klyachko diagram. Conversally they characterize the Klyachko diagram of monomial ideals with a constant Hilbert polynomial.
