Given an algebra \(A\) over a field \(F\) and fixed \(\lambda\in F\), a linear operator \(R\) on \(A\) is called a Rota-Baxter operator (RB-operator, for short) of weight \(\lambda\) if the following equation \[ R(a)R(b)=R(R(a)b+aR(b)+\lambda ab) \] holds for all \(a,b\in A\). Monomial RB-operators on the polynomial algebra \(F[x]\) were studied by \textit{S. Zheng} et al. [Commun. Algebra 47, No. 8, 3094--3116 (2019; Zbl 1450.16039)]. This paper under review mainly deals with monomial RB-operators of nonzero weight arising from homomorphic averaging operators on the polynomial algebra \(F[x,y]\). The author first classifies all monomial homomorphic averaging operators on \(F[x, y]\) up to conjugation with the automorphism \(\psi_{x,y}\) of \(F[x, y]\) defined by \(\psi_{x,y}(x)=y\) and \(\psi_{x,y}(y)=x\). Then the author describes some monomial RB-operators arisen from homomorphic averaging operators on \(F[x, y]\).
