A quantale is a complete join-semilattice with an associative, completely distributive, binary operation. If, moreover, it is endowed with a unary operation satisfying identities with generalized inverse elements, then it is called an involutive quantale. The aim of this paper is to extend Resendre's correspondence [\textit{P.~Resendre}, ``Étale groupoids and their quantales'', Adv. Math. 208, No.~1, 147--209 (2007; Zbl 1116.06014)] to topological groupoids and unital involutive quantales. A classification of the space of Penrose tilings is shown. (The Penrose tiling is a subset of \(2^{\aleph_0}\) endowed with the Tychonoff topology and consisting of the sequences \(\{x_k\}_{k\in\aleph_0}\) such that \( x_k=1\) implies \(x_{k+1}=0\).)
