Gradient estimates for differential equations of mathematical physics are very powerful tools in geometric analysis. Fix a Riemannian manifold \((M^n, g)\), a vector field \(X\) on it and a smooth function \(\lambda \in C^{\infty }(M)\). The pair \((X, \lambda )\) is an almost Ricci soliton on \((M, g)\) if \({\mathcal L}_Xg+2\mathrm{Ric} _g+2\lambda g=0\). The paper provides a gradient estimate for the solution of the equation \(\Delta u-X(u)=f\) assuming that \(M\) is compact. The main result is the Sobolev inequality given in Theorem 2.2.
