The authors describe boundary singularities connected with deformations of hyperelastic bodies. For the unit ball \(\mathbb B=\mathbb B(0,1)\subset\mathbb R^n\) and \(\beta\geq1\), the \(\beta\)-power inward cusp in \(\mathbb B\) is defined and denoted by \[ \mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}=\mathbb B^n(0,1)\setminus\{(t,x)\in\mathbb R^+\times\mathbb R^{n-1}:|x|\leq t^{\beta}\}. \] The \(\beta\)-power outward cusp is defined similarly. The critical exponent \(\beta_0(n,p,q)\) is equal to \((pq+p-n)(p-n)^{-1}(q+1-n)^{-1}\) if \(n<p\) and \(n-1<q<\infty\), \(\beta_0(n,\infty,q)=(q+1)(q+1-n)^{-1}\), \(\beta_0(n,p,\infty)=p(p-n)^{-1}\). The next result of the paper substantially relaxes the condition on Sobolev regularity of the inverse deformation. Theorem 1.7. Let \(n\geq3\) and \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\subset\mathbb R^n\) be an inward cusp domain with degree \(\beta\geq1\). Suppose that \(n<p\leq\infty\) and \(n-1<q\leq\infty\) with \(\min\{p,q\}<\infty\). Then there exists a homeomorphism \(h\) from \(\mathbb B\) onto \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) of the Sobolev class \(\mathcal W^{1,p}(\mathbb B,\mathbb R^n)\) whose inverse mapping \(f=h^{-1}\) belongs to \(\mathcal W^{1,q}(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec},\mathbb R^n)\) if and only if \(\beta<\beta_0\). Theorem 1.8. Let \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) be any inward cusp domain in \(\mathbb R^n\), \(n\geq3\). Then there exist the following deformations: \newline (1) a homeomorphism \(h_1\) from \(\mathbb B\) onto \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) of the class \(\mathcal W^{1,n}(\mathbb B,\mathbb R^n)\) whose inverse \(f_1\) from \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) onto \(\mathbb B\) is Lipschitz regular, and \newline (2) a Lipschitz homeomorphism \(h_2\) from \(\mathbb B\) onto \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) whose inverse mapping \(f_2\) from \(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec}\) onto \(\mathbb B\) lies in the Sobolev class \(\mathcal W^{1,n-1}(\mathbb B_{\beta}^{\prec},\mathbb R^n)\). Similar theorems are proved for outward cusp domains including planar ones.
