Let \(n \geq 0\) be an integer and let \(A_{n}\) denotes the Artin group of dihedral type, which is the group defined by \(A_{n} = <a, b \mid \mathrm{prod}(a, b; n)= \mathrm{prod}(b,a;n)>\), here \(\mathrm{prod}(x,y;n)\) denotes the word of length \(n\) that alternates \(x\) and \(y\) and starts with \(x\). In this paper, the authors compute the Bredon homology groups (see [\textit{G. E. Bredon}, Equivariant cohomology theories. Berlin-Heidelberg-New York: Springer-Verlag (1967; Zbl 0162.27202); \textit{G. Mislin} and \textit{A. Valette}, Proper group actions and the Baum-Connes conjecture. Basel: Birkhäuser (2003; Zbl 1028.46001)]) of the classifying space of \(A_{n}\) for the family of virtually cyclic groups, with coefficients in the \(K\)-theory of a group ring. The authors describe the relations of their work with the Farrell-Jones conjecture (see [\textit{F. T. Farrell} and \textit{L. E. Jones}, J. Am. Math. Soc. 6, No. 2, 249--297 (1993; Zbl 0798.57018)]) for the groups \(A_{n}\). Note that this paper is part of a programm aimed to understand equivariant and \(K\)-theoretic invariants for Artin groups (see [\textit{R. Flores} and \textit{J. González-Meneses}, Int. Math. Res. Not. 2020, No. 5, 1575--1600 (2020; Zbl 1477.20071)]).
