Let \(G\) be connected simple non-compact linear Lie group. Let \(\pi\) be any irreducible unitary representation of \(G\) with infinitesimal character \((\lambda, \nu) \). A theorem of Helgason-Jonson bound shows that norm of \(\nu\) is bounded by the norm \(\Vert \cdot \Vert\) of \(\rho_G\). In case by case analysis, the author sharpens the Helgason-Johnson bound when \(\pi\) is infinite-dimensional. For example, \(G\) a complex Lie group, Lie\((G)=\mathfrak g_{2}: \Vert \nu \Vert \leq \sqrt{26}, \Vert \rho_G \Vert = \sqrt{56}\); Lie\((G)=\mathfrak f_{4}: \Vert \nu \Vert \leq \sqrt{78}, \Vert \rho_G \Vert = \sqrt{156}\).
