The principal aim of this article is to prove the stability of Dirac structures around fixed points. Recall that Dirac structures are Lagrangian and involutive subbundles of Courant algebroids. The authors first notice that deformations of Dirac structures are governed by Maurer-Cartan elements on the \(L_{\infty}[1]\) algebra associated by applying inner automorphisms on the ambient Courant algebroid. This hints that the stability of Dirac structures around a fixed point should follow from a more general stability result for Maurer-Cartan elements of \(L_{\infty}[1]\) algebroids. The authors prove this much more general stability theorem which is interesting on its own right. The stability of Dirac structures around fixed points is an application of this result. As expected, the condition for stability is the vanishing of Lie algebra cohomology at degree 2.
