In the seminal paper [\textit{L. Solomon}, Nagoya Math. J. 22, 57--64 (1963; Zbl 0117.27104)], it is proved that the set of differential forms invariant under the action of a complex reflection group forms a free exterior algebra. \textit{J. Hartmann}, in [Transform. Groups 6, No. 2, 157--164 (2001; Zbl 1010.13003)], showed that the conclusion of Solomon's Theorem holds for a group generated by diagonalizable reflections whose ring of invariant polynomials forms a polynomial algebra. In the paper under review, the authors study the analogous theory over arbitrary fields, in particular, when the characteristic of the underlying field divides the order of the acting reflection group and the conclusion of Solomon's Theorem may fail. They give a Jacobian criterion for finding a basis of differential derivations invariant under a finite group that distinguishes certain cases over fields of characteristic \(2\). They show that the reflecting hyperplanes lie in a single orbit and prove a duality of exponents and coexponents when the transvection root spaces of a reflection group are maximal. Finally, they obtain explicit bases for \(\mathrm{SL}(n,q)\) and \(\mathrm{GL}(n,q)\).
