Partition algebras arose in the early 1990s in the work of P. Martin, and later, independently, in the work of V. F. R. Jones. As mentioned by \textit{P. Martin} [J. Algebra 183, No. 2, 319--358 (1996; Zbl 0863.20009)], \textit{it is of current interest because of its role in statistical mechanics, specifically as the generalization of the Temperley-Lieb algebra appearing in lattice models \dots in high physical dimensions}. In this article, the author lifts a formula given by \textit{Z. K. Xiao} [Acta Math. Sin., Engl. Ser. 32, No. 5, 607--620 (2016; Zbl 1353.20033)] initially for the analogue of the sign representation for the rook monoid algebra to a diagram basis evaluation in the partition algebra \(\mathbb{C} A_k(n)\). As a consequence, the diagram basis evaluation of such a lifting generates a one-dimensional module under the action of multiplication in the algebra, which establishes an explicit formula for such a module, denoted here by Alt\(_k\). This gives also a cancellation-free formula for the other one-dimensional generators in the orbit basis.
