\textit{W. T. Ingram} [An introduction to inverse limits with set-valued functions. Berlin: Springer (2012; Zbl 1257.54033)] asked for sufficient conditions on bonding functions on \([0, 1]\), so that the inverse limit is a tree-like continuum. Many authors have investigated this question and obtained different results. In this paper, the authors give examples of upper semi-continuous functions whose inverse limit is a tree-like continuum and for which the known theorems do not apply. Then, they prove the main theorem to show that these examples produce tree-like continua. Indeed, the authors establish conditions under which the inverse limits with set-valued bonding functions are tree-like continua. They show that if we consider functions whose graphs are unions of the graphs of certain finite collections of set-valued functions, we obtain tree-like continua.
