In 2018, \textit{V. E. Coll jun.} et al. [Electron. J. Comb. 27, No. 3, Research Paper P3.1, 13 p. (2020; Zbl 1445.05015)] conjectured that the \(q\)-series \(1/(q, -q^3; q^4)\infty\) is the generating function for a certain parity statistic related to the index of seaweed algebras. Here, \((a;q)\infty:=\prod_{n\ge 0}(1-aq^n)\) and \((a,b;q)_\infty:=(a;q)_\infty(b;q)_\infty\). Thanks to earlier work by Seo and Yee, the conjecture would follow from the non-negativity of the coefficients of this infinite product. In the present paper, the author uses Wright's circle method, Euler-Maclaurin summation, as well as careful numerical analysis to establish an asymptotic formula with an explicit error term for the coefficients. This implies non-negativity for all coefficients except in a checkable finite number of cases by computer, thereby confirming the Coll-Mayers-Mayers Conjecture.
