The paper focuses on the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time-decaying harmonic potentials \[ i\partial_t u-\frac 12\left(-\Delta+\sigma(t)|x|^2\right)u=F(u), \] where \(x\in\mathbb{R}^d\) and \(d\leq 3\). The decay rate for \(\sigma\) is of order \(t^{-2}\) at infinity. In the case of a power nonlinearity \(F(u)=\pm |u|^pu\), there is a critical exponent \(p_c\) depending on \(\sigma\) for which the following is satisfied for small data. If \(p>p_c\), there is short-range scattering in the sense that the solution converges to the free solution. However, if \(p=p_c\) there is long-range scattering in the sense that the solution converges to the free solution with a logarithmic phase correction, see [\textit{M. Kawamoto}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 503, No. 1, Article ID 125292, 17 p. (2021; Zbl 1476.35240)]. In the present paper, the nonlinearity \(F\) is a generalization of the power nonlinearity, in particular it is assumed to be homogeneous of degree \(1+p_c\) in the sense that \(F(\alpha z)=\alpha^{1+p_c}F(z)\), with some decay assumption on the Fourier coefficients of \(F\). The main result is that there is long-range scattering with the same exponent \(p_c\) as the power nonlinearity. More precisely, given \(u_+\) sufficiently small in suitable weighted Sobolev spaces, there is a unique solution \(u\in\mathcal{C}([T,\infty), L^2(\mathbb{R}^d))\) which exhibits long-range scattering with final data \(u_+\). The proof is based on adapted Strichartz estimates with time weights and fine estimates on the non-resonant terms.
