In this paper, the global existence and boundedness of solutions, and the complex dynamic phenomena, such as occurring both steady state solution bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation, have been investigated for a predator-prey system with Holling type II and nonlinear prey-taxi. Comparing to the constant diffusion, the Hopf bifurcation phenomenon is more complex and difficult to describe under some changes of parameters due to the introduction of nonlinear diffusion. In the conclusion section, some interesting and meaningful issues are proposed as follow-up work, such as the dynamics on the prey-taxis systems with Dirichlet or Robin boundary conditions.
