This paper introduces internal Lagrangians as elements of the cohomology of some complex on a differential equation (see [\textit{D. Krupka} (ed.) and \textit{D. Saunders} (ed.), Handbook of global analysis. Amsterdam: Elsevier (2008; Zbl 1235.58001)]). A \textit{presymplectic structure} of a differential equation refers to an element of the kernel of the differential \(d_{1}^{2,n-1}\) from the Vinogradov's \(\mathcal{C}\)-spectral sequence, as in [\textit{A. V. Bocharov} et al., Symmetries and conservation laws for differential equations of mathematical physics. Transl. from the Russian by A. M. Verbovetsky and I. S. Krasil'shchik. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (1999; Zbl 0911.00032)]. The connection between internal Lagrangian and presymplectic structures is based on a spectral sequence similar to Vinogradov's \(\mathcal{C}\)-spectral sequence. The results obtained allow the author to get a condition under which internal Lagrangians can be identified with presymplectic structures.
