The authors introduce the notion of quasi-stable ideals in an integral domain, that is, ideals \(I\) in an integral domain \(R\) such that \(I\) is flat in its endomorphism ring \((I:I)\). Then they study some properties of integral domains in which every nonzero fractional ideal is quasi-stable, called quasi-stable domains. Particularly, they show that the class of quasi-stable domains is strictly larger than the class of stable domains (i.e., every nonzero ideal is projective in its endomorphism ring) and smaller than the class of finitely stable domains (i.e., every nonzero f. g. ideal is stable).
