Some models for thin porous media are studied in this paper. The flow of a Navier-Stokes fluid is considered in a domain between two parallel plates at small distance, which is ``perforated'' by a periodic network of perpendicular cylinders. Three important cases are considered, function of the relations between the size of periods, the cylinders height and the thickness of the media. Some previous results exist in the case when the Reynolds number is of order one. The new element of this paper is to consider Reynolds numbers of different orders, function of the thickness of the medium. A critical Reynolds exist, behind which a lower-Darcy flow is obtained. On the contrary, for larger Reynolds, the Darcy law is not verified, due to the magnitude of the inertial terms. The authors generalize the results given in [\textit{F. Boughanim} and \textit{R. Tapiéro}, Appl. Anal. 57, No. 3--4, 243--269 (1995; Zbl 0833.76003)] and [\textit{A. Bourgeat} and \textit{A. Mikelić}, Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 26, No. 7, 1221--1253 (1996; Zbl 0863.76082)]. The point is to extend the pressure from the perforated domain to the whole space between the plates. To this end, the restriction operator introduced in [\textit{M. Anguiano} and \textit{F. J. Suárez-Grau}, Z. Angew. Math. Phys. 68, No. 2, Paper No. 45, 25 p. (2017; Zbl 1365.76006)] and an adaptation of the method of [\textit{D. Cioranescu} et al., SIAM J. Math. Anal. 40, No. 4, 1585--1620 (2008; Zbl 1167.49013)] are used. Some sharp estimates of this extension are obtained, in Sobolev spaces, which can give the magnitude of the inertial terms. Very interesting and useful interpolation inequalities are proved and used to get this result. A careful analysis is performed, giving the cases when a 2D Darcy law can describe the flow in the three types of thin porous media.
