The author uses the Arzelá-Ascoli theorem and limits of inverse (projective) systems of algebras of continuous functions with compact domains to establish a kind of stability result for continuous homomorphisms from any locally compact topological universal algebra to any completely regular topological universal algebra, see also the author's paper [Acta Univ. M. Belii, Ser. Math. 15, 73--79 (2009; Zbl 1205.46028)] for other results.
