Homotopy fiber sequences induced by 2-functors (Q616312)

The author considers the classifying spaces of \(2\)-categories. He gives a categorical interpretation of the homotopy fibres of the map between two such classifying spaces induced by a \(2\)-functor, and in this way he extends Quillen's Theorems A and B. He also extends Thomason's Homotopy Colimit Theorem by showing that in certain \(2\)-categorical contexts the classifying space of a homotopy colimit is homotopy equivalent to the classifying space of a Grothendieck construction.
