Let \(N\) be a simply connected closed \(4\)-manifold with \(H^2(N;\mathbb{Z})\cong \mathbb{Z}^{\oplus d}\), and \(M\) be the total space of a linear \(S^2\)-bundle over \(N\). When \(d\geq 1\), the author determines the homotopy type of \(\Omega M\), which is a product of loops on spheres with \(S^1\) and only depends on the value of \(d\) or equivalently \(H^2(M;\mathbb{Z})\) (Theorem 1.1 and Corollary 1.2). When \(d=0\), the author obtains a partial result (Theorem 1.4). Furthermore, passing to rational homotopy, the author shows that \(M\) is Koszul in the sense of \textit{A. Berglund} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 366, No. 9, 4551--4569 (2014; Zbl 1301.55006)].
