In [\textit{P. G. Ovchinnikov}, ``On alternative orthomodular posets'', Demonstr. Math. 27, No.~1, 89--93 (1994; Zbl 0808.03046)], a certain class of orthomodular posets was introduced as a common generalization of orthomodular posets and orthomodular lattices. The author has developed another common generalisation of them (orthomodular posets with maximality property) in [``Conditions that force an orthomodular poset to be a Boolean algebra'', Tatra Mt. Math. Publ. 10, 55--62 (1997; Zbl 0915.06003)] and several subsequent papers. In the paper under review, connections between both kinds of generalization are presented. One of the conclusions is that they are not comparable.
