The strengthened Broué abelian defect group conjecture for \(\mathrm{SL} (2,p^n)\) and \(\mathrm{GL} (2,p^n)\) (Q6170750)

Broué's abelian defect group conjecture, in its stronger form proposed by \textit{R. Kessar} and \textit{M. Linckelmann} [in: Geometric and topological aspects of the representation theory of finite groups. PIMS summer school and workshop, Vancouver, Canada, July 27 -- August 5, 2016. Cham: Springer; Vancouver: Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences. 181--212 (2018; \url{doi:10.1007/978-3-319-94033-5_7})], states that for any complete discrete valuation ring \(\mathcal{O}\) with residue field of prime characteristic \(p\) and any finite group \(G\), each block \(B\) of \(\mathcal{O}G\) with abelian defect group \(D\) is splendidly Rickard equivalent to the Brauer correspondent of \(B\) in \(\mathcal{O}N_G(D)\). The authors show that this conjecture holds for all \(p\)-blocks of \(\mathrm{SL}_2(p^n)\) and \(\mathrm{GL}_2(p^n)\) for every \(n\). For \(\mathrm{SL}_2(p^n)\) this builds on Rickard equivalences constructed by Okuyama and Yoshii by using descent techniques. The result for \(\mathrm{GL}_2(p^n)\) is obtained from \(\mathrm{SL}_2(p^n)\) using Marcus' analysis of crossed products and Rickard equivalences.
