In this article, the authors extend the result given by \textit{H. Nam} and \textit{M. Yu} [Int. J. Number Theory 17, No. 3, 699--712 (2021; Zbl 1471.11257)], which gave the largest size of \((s,s+1)\)-core partitions with parts of the same parity, to the \((s, qs\pm1)\)-core partitions. The authors present their results in the form of two theorems, i.e., Theorem \(1.1\) and Theorem \(1.2\), and propose their proof with the help of eight lemmas, i.e., Lemma \(2.1\) [\textit{J. Anderson}, Discrete Math. 248, No. 1--3, 237--243 (2002; Zbl 1001.05015); \textit{J. Y. X. Yang} et al., Eur. J. Comb. 49, 203--217 (2015; Zbl 1315.05017)] to Lemma \(2.8\), which were either already established by other(s) or presented in this paper for the first time. Theorem \(1.1\) is proved completely, however for Theorem \(1.2\) only outlines are given, as its proof is similar to Theorem \(1.1\).
