For a prime number \(p\) and an irrational \(p\)-adic number \(\xi\), the multiplicative irrationality exponent \(\mu^{\times}(\xi)\) of \(\xi\) is defined as the supremum of the real numbers \(\mu^{\times}\) for which \[0<|b\xi-a|_p\le (|ab|^{1/2})^{-\mu^{\times}}\] has infinitely many solutions in integers \(a,b\). \par The Thue-Morse sequence \(\xi_{t,p}\) is defined by \[\xi_{t,p}=\sum_{n\ge 0}t_np^n=1-p-p^2+p^3-p^4+p^5+p^6-p^7+\cdots .\] Several authors have studied Diophantine properties of such real numbers. The authors proves that \[\mu^{\times}(\xi_{t,p})=3.\] More precisely, there exists a positive real number \(c\) such that there are no nonzero integers \(a,b\) with \(|ab|\) arbitrary large, and \[|b\xi_{t,p}-a|_p<c|ab|^{-3/2}.\] An analogues result is formulated for the so called uniform multiplicative irrationality exponent.\par The proof of this deep results uses among others an idea of Mahler.
