The author studies the tangential Cauchy-Fueter complex on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. In analogy with the theory of several complex variables, he considers the tangential Cauchy-Fueter operator induced by the Cauchy-Fueter operator on the quaternionic space \(\mathbb{H}^n\). The connection with the quaternionic Heisenberg group is done via the identification with the boundary of the Siegel upper half space. To resolve the tangential \(k\)-Cauchy-Fueter operator, in particular the \(1\)-Cauchy-Fueter or simply Cauchy-Fueter operator, an exact sequence, the tangential \(k\)-Cauchy-Fueter complex, is constructed. This is done by considering the complex Lie group \(\mathrm{Sp}(2n+2,\mathbb{C})\), its parabolic subgroups, and using the Penrose transform associated to the double fibration of homogeneous spaces induced by the parabolic subgroups. In the end, one pulls it back from the complex group to the quaternionic Heisenberg group. This complex provides the compatibility condition under which the non-homogeneous tangential \(k\)-Cauchy-Fueter equations are solvable.
