The authors deal with a problem in constant mean curvature theory of hypersurfaces in the real \(n\)-dimensional space. The question is under which conditions a compact submanifold of codimension 2 in the Euclidean space with a single-valued orthogonal projection on a hyperplane is a graph with constant mean curvature \(H\). A former result by J. Serrin yields one sufficient condition, namely that it is sufficient to demand the manifold to be contained in a right cylinder orthogonal to the hyperplane, with inner mean curvature greater than \(H\). The authors prove that a similar conclusion holds for a right cone instead of the right cylinder. In the limit case, the cone turns into Serrin's right cylinder.
