    The present research deals with certain sets, whose elements represented in terms of the beta-expansion. The main attention is given to the Lebesgue measure and the Hausdorff dimension. The authors give auxiliary explanations, recall useful notions, and briefly describe related researches. Let \(\beta>1\) be a fixed real number and let \(r_n(x,\beta)\) be the maximal length of consecutive \(0\)'s in the first \(n\) digits of the beta-expansion of \(x\in [0, 1]\) in base \(\beta\). This article is devoted to investigations of the following sets for \(x\in (0,1)\): \[ D_x = \left\{ \beta > 1 : \lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{r_n ( x , \beta )}{\log_\beta n} = 1 \right\}, \] \[ D_x(a, b) = \left\{ \beta > 1 : \liminf_{n \to \infty} \frac{r_n ( x , \beta )}{\log_\beta n} = a, \;\limsup_{n \to \infty} \frac{r_n ( x , \beta )}{\log_\beta n} = b \right\} \] for any \(0 \le a \le b \le + \infty\), and \[ F_x(c, d) = \left\{ \beta > 1 : \liminf_{n \to \infty} \frac{r_n ( x , \beta )}{n} = c, \;\limsup_{n \to \infty} \frac{r_n ( x , \beta )}{n} = d \right\} \] for any \(0 \le c \le d \le 1\). It is proven that \(D_x\) is a set of the full Lebesgue measure in \((1, +\infty)\), the set \(D_x(a, b)\) has the full Hausdorff dimension. In addition, the Hausdorff dimension is determined for \(F_x(c, d)\).
