Let \(\mathcal B\) be a bornology on a metric space \((X, \rho)\). A cover \(\mathcal U\) of \(X\) is called a strong-\(\mathcal B\)-cover (briefly, \(\mathcal B^s\)-cover) if \(X \notin \mathcal U\) and for each \(B \in \mathcal B\) there are \(U \in \mathcal U\) and \(\delta> 0\) such that \(B^{\delta} \subset U\), where \(B^{\delta} = \cup_{x\in B}S(x,\delta)\) and \(S(x,\delta) = \{y\in \rho(x, y) < \delta\}\). Let \(\mathcal I\) be a proper ideal on \(\mathbb N\). The author introduces the notion of \(\mathcal I\)-\(\gamma_{\mathcal B^s}\)-cover (as generalization of \(\gamma\)-covers and \(\gamma_{\mathcal B^s}\)-covers) and shows the importance of such covers in selection principles theory. A few selection principles (of \(S_1\), \(S_{fin}\) and \(U_{fin}\) type) and corresponding infinite two person games are characterized in terms of these covers. Also, the role of these covers in function spaces are considered.
