The paper investigates Schrödinger operators \(-\Delta+V\) on infinite cylinders \(\mathbb{R}^d\times \mathbb{S}^1\) with \(d\) odd and \(\mathbb{S}^1\) the unit circle in \(\mathbb{R}^2\), where \(V\) is a bounded and compactly supported potential. The key object of investigation are resonances, i.e., poles of the resolvent of the Schrödinger operator. Under suitable decay properties of the Fourier coefficients of \(V\) w.r.t. the second component, high energy resonances can be well approximated by those of the Schrödinger operator \(-\Delta+V_0\), where \(V_0\) is the potential being averaged over the unit circle (i.e., the \(0\)-th Fourier coefficient). Smoothness of the potential \(V\) improves the localisation of the resonances. If \(d=1\), asymptotic expansions of the resonances are given.
