The authors study the behavior near \(0\) of positive solutions for \(-\Delta u=u^{q}\), \(u=\xi \) on \(\partial \Omega \backslash \{0\},\) where \(q>1\) and \(\xi \) is a given nonnegative smooth function defined on \(\partial \Omega \backslash \{0\}.\) They prove that the limits of \(| x| ^{\frac{2}{q-1}}u(x)\) for \(\frac{N+1}{N-1}<q<\frac{N+2}{N-2}\) and \(| x| ^{N-1}(\log \frac{1}{| x| } )^{\frac{N-1}{2}}u(x)\) as \(| x| \rightarrow 0\) are \( \omega (x)\) and \(\kappa \frac{x_{N}}{| x| }\) respectively, where \(\kappa \) is a positive constant, \(x_{N}\) is the \(N\)th component of \(x\) and \(\omega \) is the positive solution of the related equation on a spherical domain.
