      Let \(\varOmega\subset\mathbb C^n\) be a bounded hyperconvex domain and let \((\varOmega_j)_{j=1}^\infty\) be an exhaustion of \(\varOmega\) by strictly pseudoconvex domains (\(\varOmega_j\subset\subset\varOmega_{j+1}\), \(\bigcup_{j=1}^\infty\varOmega_j=\varOmega\)). Put \[ \begin{aligned} \mathcal E_0&=\Big\{\varphi\in\mathcal{PSH}^-(\varOmega)\cap L^\infty(\varOmega): \lim_{z\to\partial\varOmega}\varphi(z)=0,\;\int_\varOmega(dd^c\varphi)^n<+\infty\Big\},\\ \mathcal E&=\Big\{\varphi\in\mathcal{PSH}^-(\varOmega): \forall_{z_0\in\varOmega}\;\exists_{\omega - \text{ a neighborhood of } z_0}\;\exists_{(\varphi_j)_{j=1}^\infty\subset\mathcal E_0}:\\ &\hskip130pt\varphi\searrow\varphi \text{ on } \omega,\;\sup_{j\in\mathbb N}\int_\varOmega(dd^c\varphi_j)^n<+\infty\Big\},\\ \mathcal N&=\{\varphi\in\mathcal E: \sup\{u\in\mathcal{PSH}(\varOmega): u\leq\varphi \text{ on } \varOmega\setminus\overline\varOmega_j\}\nearrow0\}. \end{aligned} \] The main result of the paper is the following theorem. Let \(\chi:(-\infty,0]\longrightarrow[0,+\infty)\) be a decreasing function, \(\chi\not\equiv0\). Assume that \((\varphi_j)_{j=1}^\infty\subset\mathcal E_0\) is such that \(\sup_{j\in\mathbb N}\int_\varOmega\chi(\varphi_j)(dd^c\varphi_j)^n<+\infty\). Then: (a) \(\varphi:=(\limsup_{j\to+\infty}\varphi_j)^\ast\in\mathcal E\), (b) if \(\chi(t)>0\) for \(t<0\), then \(\varphi\in\mathcal N\). Moreover, the authors present a strong comparison principle for the operator \(M_\chi(u):=\chi(u(z),z)(dd^cu)^n\), where \(\chi:(-\infty,0]\times\varOmega\longrightarrow[0,+\infty)\) is such that \(\chi(\cdot,z)\) is decreasing, \(z\in\varOmega\).
