The authors consider the global asymptotic stability of models governed by the following quasilinear parabolic Lotka-Volterra competitive system in population dynamics \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\Delta[(d_1+\alpha_{11}u+\alpha_{12}v)u]+(a_1-b_1u-c_1v)u,& \text{in }\Omega\times(0,\infty),\\ v_t=\Delta[(d_2+\alpha_{21}u+\alpha_{22}v)v]+(a_2-b_2u-c_2v)v,& \text{in }\Omega\times (0,\infty),\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu}=\frac{\partial v}{\partial \nu}, & \text{on }\partial\Omega\times(0,\infty)\\ u(x,0)=u_0(x)\geq 0,\quad v(x,0)=v_0(x)\geq 0, & \text{in } \bar{\Omega}, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) is a bounded smooth domain and \(\alpha_{ij}\geq 0\), \(d_i\), \(a_i\), \(b_i\), \(c_i\) are positive constants for \(i,j=1,2\) and the initial functions \(u_0(x)\), \(v_0(x)\) are not identically zero and are in the function space \(W_2^1([0,1])\). Applying a method of energy estimation the authors extend the result [\textit{S.-A. Shim}, Nonlinear Anal., Real World Appl. 4, No.~1, 65--86 (2003; Zbl 1015.35020)] to the case of time delays, and establish conditions for the uniform boundedness of solutions and global asymptotic stability for the constant steady state of a considered system with cross-diffusions dominated by self-diffusions and large diffusion coefficients in population dynamics.
