In this survey article, the progress in the field of variational homogenization methods is reported by focusing on the contributions of the authors. After giving an overview about the homogenization approach of the authors, various methods for homogenization problems are reviewed arising in composites with a semicrystalline microstructure, and in phase transitions in heterogeneous media For the entire collection see [Zbl 07816359].
