\(n\)-ary hypergroups are introduced by Davvaz and Vougiouklis in 2006 as a generalization of \(n\)-groups and hypergroups. A fuzzy approach of \(n\)-ary hypergroups was already considered by \textit{B. Davvaz} and \textit{P. Corsini}, [J. Intell. Fuzzy Syst. 18, No. 4, 377-382 (2007; Zbl 1132.20045)]. Then another kind of fuzzy \(n\)-hypergroups was investigated [the author, Inf. Sci. 179, No. 15, 2710-2718 (2009; Zbl 1187.20072)]. Now, in this paper the author extends the fuzzy approach of algebraic structures to the context of fuzzy \(n\)-ary systems. She introduces the notions of fuzzy join \(n\)-ary spaces and of fuzzy canonical \(n\)-ary hypergroups, which are generalizations of join spaces and canonical hypergroups. A characterization of fuzzy canonical \(n\)-ary hypergroups using fuzzy join \(n\)-ary spaces is given.
