    The authors study frames for a Hilbert space, i.e., indexed families \(\{f_j\}_{j\in J}\) so that \(A\|x\|^2 \leq \sum_{j\in J} |\langle x,f_j\rangle|^2 \leq B\|x\|^2\) for all \(x\in H\) (where \(A, B >0\)) and, in particular, the subspace \[ H^p_F = \left\{x\in H: \sum_{j\in J} |\langle x,f_j\rangle|^p<\infty\right\}, \] where \(1\leq p \leq 2\). Among many results, they show that the mapping \(\theta_F(x)= \{\langle x,f_j\rangle\}_{j\in J}\) maps \(H^p_F\) onto \(\ell^p\) if and only if \(F\) is a Riesz basis, and that if \(p< 2\) then \(H^p_F\) is a closed subspace of \(H\) only if it is finite-dimensional, but \(\theta_F(H^p_F)\) is always a closed subspace of \(\ell^p\).
