A hyperbolic polynomial \(p_n(x)\) of degree \(n\) (that is, \(p_n(x)\) has only real zeros) is said to be \textit{very hyperbolic} if, for every \(k\in\mathbb N\), there exists a hyperbolic polynomial \(P_{n+k}\) of degree \(n+k\) such that \(P^{(k)}_{n+k}(x)=p_n(x)\). In this interesting paper, the authors develop a novel technique, using very hyperbolic polynomials, and obtain a new sharp extension of the Turán inequalities involving five consecutive coefficients of a function in the Laguerre-Pólya class (Theorem 1). The paper concludes with some numerical experiments which illustrate the main result for the Riemann \(\xi\)-function.
