After brief recall of the definitions of Poisson vertex algebra and Lie conformal algebra the problem of the classification of Poisson vertex algebra structures on the algebra of differential polynomials is discussed. In the case of one differential variable a conjectural classification is described. The associated Hamiltonian operators are also discussed.
