The authors consider the elliptic operator \(L= -\text{div\,}A(x)\nabla\) acting on functions \((x,t)\mapsto n(x,t)\), \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n\), \(t\in\mathbb{R}\), where the \((n\times 1)\times(n+1)\)-matrix \(A(x)\) of complex-valued functions is independent of \(t\) and satisfies \(\lambda|\xi|^2\leq \text{Re}\langle A(x)\xi,\xi\rangle\) and \(\| A(\cdot)\|_\infty\leq\Lambda\), \(0< \lambda\). Stability results (with respect to complex perturbations of \(A\)) for the boundedness and invertibility of corresponding layer potentials are investigated. Using a variant of the Tb theorem for a real and symmetric matrix \(A\) the boundedness and invertibility of the layer potentials are proved, and hence in combination with the previous result, results for complex matrices \(A\) follow. This is now applied to certain Dirichlet and Neumann problem.
