    For \(N\geq 0\) let \((x;q)_N=(1-x)(1-xq) \dots (1-xq^{N-1})\), and recall the \(q\)-binomial coefficient defined by \[ \begin{bmatrix} n \\k \end{bmatrix}=\begin{cases} \frac{(q;q)_n}{(q;q)_k(q;q)_{n-k}} &\text{if}~0\leq k\leq n,\\ 0 &\text{otherwise}. \end{cases} \] The paper under review studies some new generalizations of identities due to \textit{K. Dilcher} [Discrete Math. 145, No. 1--3, 83--93 (1995; Zbl 0834.05005)] and \textit{H. Prodinger} [Random Struct. Algorithms 19, No. 3--4, 552--557 (2001; Zbl 0986.05015)], involving above mentioned notations. Also, a class of binomial sums evaluated. The paper includes some nice corollaries of main results.
