The authors prove weighted strong inequalities for the multilinear potential operators \[ T_{\phi}(\vec f)(x)=\int_{(\mathbb R^n)^m} \phi(x-y_1,\dots,x-y_m)\prod_{i=1}^m f_i(y_i) \,d\vec y \] and the commutators \[ T_{\vec b,\phi}(\vec f)(x)=\sum_{j=1}^m T_{b_j,\phi}(\vec f)(x), \] where \(\phi\) is a nonnegative function defined on \((\mathbb R^n)^m\) satisfying certain growth conditions. Fefferman-Stein type inequalities and Coifman type estimates for these operators are obtained. Also, weighted weak type inequalities for the multilinear maximal operator \(M_{\varphi,L^B}\) are proved associated to an essentially nondecreasing function \(\varphi\) and the Orlicz space \(L^B\) for a given Young function \(B\) that allows to obtain a weighted weak type inequality for the operator \(T_\phi.\)
