Quasi-optimized Schwarz methods for reaction diffusion equations with time delay (Q641593)

The convergence behaviour of the Schwarz waveform relaxation for solving partial differential equations with time delay is investigated. The underlying model used is the reaction-diffusion equation with constant time delay. Optimised transmission conditions of Robin type are derived using a new method derived in the paper. Applying this new method to the heat equation with constant delay reveals that it is superior in terms of efficiency as compared to other methods. Numerical results are given.
